Current High School Junior and Seniors.
Practice your college audition skills for Professional Directors, Professors and Broadway veterans.
December 20, 2020 (Tentative – Full Day)
The best way to practice is DO! Get in front of professionals! Get uncomfortable! Make mistakes to learn! Get valuable feedback from the current NYC industry!
ABOUT THE DAY
WHAT WILL THE DAY CONSIST OF?
The first portion of the day will be run like the Unified Auditions. The Guest Panel will be ushered in separately so you can audition your 16-bars and monologues in front of strangers just like you would in the “room” for your College Audition. There will be a small break and you will then be led through a dance audition. For the mornings entirety the Guest Panel will be taking personalized notes on YOU that will be given one-on-one in round robin style after lunch giving you individualized feedback and constructive criticism on your days work. The day will be finished with a Q&A for the Guest Panel.
WHO IS ON THE GUEST PANEL?
During my 12 years in NYC I was able to make some great contacts from teaching, performing, and working. The date is tentatively December 20th as the college semester will be completed and I can guarantee attendance of a college faculty member. The goal is to have a well-rounded Panel from various backgrounds to provide the most diverse feedback possible. I already have confirmation from industry veterans and professionals but due to our ever changing schedule with theatre I want to make sure to keep it TBD until the flights are booked and the “ink is dry.” The Guest Panel will be announced by November 1, 2020.
WHAT MAKES FCC'S MOCK AUDITION DAY UNIQUE?
→ Small workshop size: 15 Auditioners Maximum
→ Individualized feedback: Unlike a typical audition setting where you ONLY find out if you get cast or not, you will sit eye-to-eye with EACH Guest Panelist and receive personal feedback to help you in your future auditions
→ Full Audition Experience: Nerves from auditioning in front of others? Check. Walking into “the room” and interacting with an accompanist? Check. How you carry yourself in the waiting room? Check. The possibility of adjustments and notes from the panel? Check. The unpredictability of an overall audition experience? Check.
→ Spend the day together as a Musical Theatre community: Often times you arrive before your audition and leave right after making little to no human interaction, after the “scary” audition portion we will spend the rest of the day networking.
